13 Fun Fact About South Korea

First of all, I prefer to write these in Indonesian, to avoid something or anything inconvenience.
Pernah dengar film Stop-motion? Ada yang bagus loh. Judulnya Coraline. Directornya sama dengan director Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Bagi yang tertarik atau suka sama animasi, ini wajib nonton, dan reviewnya sudah ada di account Flixster-ku.

Oke, ini main topicnya.

13 Fakta unik yang kudapat mengenai Korea Selatan:

1. Restoran Korea cenderung murah hati. Mau bukti? Cobalah mampir ke salah satu restoran, minta tambah nasi? Gratis! Air Minum? Gratis! Udong?
bayar lhaa..

2. Setelah dilihat-lihat, mobil pabrikan Jepang sangat jarang! Hyundai, Kia dimana-mana.
3. Toilet-toiletnya? Luar biasa bersih!

Bersih?

Alasannya? Dia tidak tahan dengan suaminya! (Korea
masih sangat kuno pemikirannya!)

More about South Korea is still waiting. Next I think it will be Food and Beverages. Cheers! xD

Holiday Review: South Korea

This is the review of my holiday in SK, it reflect many important aspect, and ...well, just read it.

Ambiance: Peaceful and Quite Fabulous
Food: Not juicy, but tasty!
Transportation: Good
Airport: Currently on the top list (No.1 in the world)
Sanitary: At decent level
Love of their culture? So Much!
English Availability: Beyond Average
The Girls: Prettiful! (Okay, pretty, most of them are)
The Boys: Bweh!

The Review:

Well, South Korea provide peace for those who seek it, and it is available in it's country side; for those who love crowd, they'll love the ambiance of Seoul. The transportation there is considered advance (compared to other Asian), and the Airport, Incheon, currently, is the best in the world. About the sanitary, it's beyond expectation, it's not as dirty as I thought, I thought that it was similar to China, but it's lot lot better than China. Oh, Korean really proud of their country, culture, etc. and as a result, not much of them can speak English. About the girls, they're so refreshing! The girls is female who is under 24. The boys? Bweh.

Back Home

Wew, finally, I made it home.

About one week in South Korea simply cut lots of information to my world (such as music, internet, movies, etc.), but at least I did know that Michael Jackson passed away 2 days ago, and also, Farrah Fawcett yesterday.

For Michael Jackson, I'm not his fans, but I love one of his song "Heal The World". That song clearly has ability to heal the world, but unfortunately it's not enough to heal himself, and make the world a better place.

May they rest in peace.

Well, I have lots to tell. Lots to share, but how? And to who? This question is all over my head for several days.

From now on (for a week I guess), I'll post something about South Korea.

Kansamnida, Daehan-Mingu!

Here's some pictures from my holiday (I'm not in these photo though xp).

Mount Sorak
Korea's Traditional Market Situation
Kids are eating Ice Cream in Everland
Dong Dae Mon - One of Korea's Hotspot
Morning Seoul!

More post about Korea will be posted A.S.A.P.
Cheers! xD

Fresh News about Jiffest 2009!

Do you know Jiffest? Well, for those who have no idea what Jiffest is, I'll tell you. Jiffest stands for Jakarta International Film Festival, which was held once a year, usually took place by the end of the year (December). Jiffest also hailed as one of the most exciting (in Asia) and the biggest film festival in South East Asia!

Jiffest's Logo

Well, this year's Jiffest will be held on December 4th to 12th. And there is a fresh news from Jiffest, stated that they have selected their opening movie, "Sang Pemimpi" ("The Dreamer"). "Sang Pemimpi" is the sequel of Laskar Pelangi (The Rainbow Troops), Indonesia biggest box-office of all time. And this is the first time when Jiffest select an Indonesian Movie as the opening (2008's opening is Burn After Reading).

The book cover of "Sang Pemimpi"

Jiffest, still long way to go though, but I really miss the ambiance! This year, I must watch as much as I can!

And I hope there will be more movie available than last year's.

Farewell Science 2 (again) and Kwo Tie!

XI IPA 2's new friend by Ivan

Right, first of all, talking about the farewell of my class, XI-Science 2 which happened yesterday, it's crazy, feel that everything is facing it's end now. Happy, sad, curious, satisfied, disappoint, all those feeling are mixed into some unexplainable feeling in my head. Strange isn't it? I was once hate this class, because of one person, but now I think I'm going to miss this class.

Still, for me this class is perfect for me to grow, even though it wasn't as enjoyable as X-1, but I can't grow as good as when I was this class member.

Thank you everyone.
Oh, by the way, Marvin of Marfology also post something about this farewell. Feel free to see! (Hey Marv, I'm promoting your blog!)

All right, to next issue.
I just experience one of Chinese's traditional food, called Kuo Tie. Kuo Tie is something more like dumpling, but it's kinda roasted instead of boiled till tender. It has some kind of things that is made by mixing things like soya sauce, garlic, vegetables oil. Mix it well.

Kuo Tie itself consist of meat, pork or chicken, some vegetables.

I taste Kuo Tie near Glodok, central of Jakarta, and it's taste good! The price, actually is not cheap I think, but affordable. It cost about Rp.2,000.00 ($0.25) each.

Kuo Tie

It's so yummy! Damn, I really want to have more. I ate about 13 piece today and still, it hadn't satisfied me!

Well, I'm outta here. Korea, here I come!

(Not So) American Breakfast

Well-well, if you come and stay in some international hotel, or let's say, star rated hotels, usually there are two kinds of breakfast (three in Indonesia): Continental or American Breakfast.

Usually continental breakfast consist of bread, bread, and bread. Of course those breads are accompanied by jam, butter, honey, and tea. That's quite sucks for some, although I enjoy it.

Now, how about American Breakfast? This one, is yummy. Usually, it filled with eggs, scrambled eggs, sometimes omelet, then bacon, sausages, hash brown, mixed vegetables, and pancakes or waffles, also toasts.

Well, we don't need to be American, or stay in some international hotels to taste those delicious breakfast. We can make it ourselves! The ingredients are scattered all around the market!
So, gather all ingredient, cook all combination you want (bacon, hash brown, eggs, etc.) and bon voila! It is good looking, smells good, and delicious (plus it's quite deadly!).

Here's my (not so) American Breakfast:

Yummy is it not?

It is not as expensive as you thought! And here's the price list for my (not so) American Breakfast:

1. Smoked Beef - Rp.22,000.00 per pack, so each slice will be around Rp.6k.
2. Hash Brown Potato - Around Rp.5,000.00 each.
3. Egg, what? Around Rp.500-Rp.1,000 each!
4. Mixed Vegetables - Rp. 13,000 per 500 gr.

Quite cheap isn't it?
If you want, you can add sausages, pancakes, toast, or waffles, maybe change the eggs, or have tea or coffee for the beverages, it's all up to you!

Well, try these at home!

PS: American Breakfast contain lots of calories which isn't good for your health if you eat it often.

First Dining Review

Well, this is my first review about lunch and dining. The first restaurant (or cafe) that is lucky enough to be reviewed is, Segarra, located in Ancol Bay City.

Here's the detail:

Name: Segarra
Location: Ancol Bay City, Jalan Pantai Carnaval
Type of Food: Various (European, Asian, etc.)
Range of Price: Medium

Rating:

Ambiance: 8/10
Food: 5.5/10
Serve: 6/10

Well, Segarra, it can be considered as cafe instead of a restaurant. As I said in my details, the it has various menu, so, it can give people different kind of menu as they wish. The ambiance is very nice, located exactly seaside, making it perfect to see sunset and having a dinner soon after.

It has one main building, it has two levels, the first floor, to be honest is not cozy enough, and neither the second floor, but, for some people, the second floor might be cozy enough.

Main Building

Second Floor

This restaurant also has outdoor location which is romantic and nice. It also has an area that might be able to use for having garden party or something similar. The outdoor location which is seaside is perfect for sunset viewing.

Outdoor - Remind Me of Candidasa Resort @ Bali

That's for the location, now about the food and the service. First the service. Probably, because it's just opened, the waiter is not fast enough in serving the guest, but when the guest has served, the food and beverages served in blink. Now, the food. The food, for me aren't good enough, and from what I saw, the menus (probably) are not suit for Indonesian tongue, but suit well for the foreigner.

Well, I think that's all for Segarra, if you have native Indonesian tongue, this restaurant might disappoint you, and there might be a second for you to wish to move to another restaurant, McDonald's perhaps?

Overall Rating: 6.5/10
Category: Decent Restaurant/Cafe

Farewell Science 2 and Freedom!

Song of freedom is on my lips, today, today yeah!
Today IS the last day of my final exams, and it started with hell, and finished with i-care-not subject such as Indonesian and Chinese Language! Well, I guess it is the end of everything.

From today, I think, my class, XI-Science 2 is officially ended, well it end de facto.
It's sad to face that truth, for I remember that I used to hate this class. But as time goes by, I enjoy, yet love it. For XI-Science 2, thanks for everything.

Vote for Komodo National Park!

Previously, Indonesia has one of their national site as one of the world's seven wonders. But unfortunately it has been removed from the 7 wonders. I can't understand, why Borobudur, one of the biggest temple in Indonesia was removed! It is one of the world's wonder site!

Anyway
now Indonesia has a chance to put one of it's site once more in the 7wonder list, but in 7Wonder of Nature.

Here's the nominee:

1. Komodo National Park, NTT

2.Coral Triangle -Indonesia has the most part of it

Well, please vote before 7 of July 2009!
Now they're looking for top 77 on their list, and so far, Komodo National Park IS NOT in top 77!

So please vote for it!

Next year, they're eliminating most of it, and leaving the number of nominee to 21. And finally on 2011, they're going to announce the New7Wonder of Nature.

So, what are you waiting for?
Click New7Wonder.com to vote!

The pride of Indonesia's Nature and future of of Indonesia's tourism depend on your vote.

PS: if you have more than 2 e-mail, be kind to vote with all of your e-mail. I have voted twice and I think I'm going to vote it again, using my Yahoo! mail.

TGIF and Break Time!

Finally, after the boxing day, which happened in last 3 days, finally I can take a break!
Break from
-Studying
-Going To School
-Wake up early
and so on..

But, to be frank, last 2 days was very painful. Having those "wonderful combo" of exam, which make me start to having a cold.

And here's the review of last 3 days' exam:
Day 1: Christian+Computer: Well, so-so...
Day 2: Math= Please, somebody, hang the one who made the question!
History= Well...
Day 3: Physic= Worship the one who made the question!
Civic Study= You're forgiven, Ms!

That's all about it. I'm able to survive it! Thanks to my Friday Plan!
My Friday Plan: Watching Drag Me TO Hell, do private stuff, and take a good night sleep.

Talking about Drag Me to Hell, seriously, this movie was ..................simple made me speechless.

Drag Me To Hell's Movie Poster

Seriously! If someone loves horror, this movie is highly recommended! Oh, by the way, the review is available on my flixster account. It's a little bit shame for me, for I scream when I watched it (and there were girls who sat beside me! And as far as I remember, they didn't scream! Gosh, it successfully damaged my credibility as a young man. xp)

Well2...That's all for today..Wish me luck for the rest of the exam.

Week(s) of hell!

Yeah, this following weeks are hell for every SKIPI's student!

Guess what? Other schools are finished or finishing their final exam, and when this post is made, we barely even started!

Gosh! The first week, there're 2 killer subject.
1.Math
2.Physic

If they're alone, I believe that I still can handle it, but they're not alone.
Here's the schedule:

Day 1: Christian Subject + Technology and Information = Light appetizer.
Day 2: Math + History, an "I-care-not-subject" = Direct Hit
Day 3: Physic + Civic Study: An early genocide.

Gosh, please, support us to survive these tortures!

Well, there's lot of things that I wanna do after those 3 days of slaughter.
By the end of the week, I really love to do:

1. Watch Drag Me To Hell, with friends (hey Marv!).
2. Doing some photo shoot with Marv.
3. Make a family-wannabe photo as a souvenir for Audrey.

Hell yeah, bring it on!
